Trax Trax Trax

First up we have a remix of AC Slater's Jack Got Jacked. I didnt see a remix for this coming, because it is such an original tune that remixing it may spoil it. However, "Hear no Evil" from Tokyo have dropped this remix as a free download. (Lock their myspace here)

And to be honest, I do like this a lot. They have changed the wobbley bass to a more wall of sound type of bass, and they sample the original breakdown which is a nice touch.

Next we have a fidget remix of an old Drum and Bass track. Dillinja released Twist Em Out in 2003 and it was blowing people away for a long time in the jump up scene.

I thought it was straneg to hear it was remixed into a fidget track , however, it has been done nicely and it does work.

Next we have a tidy tune from Hostage. Titled Bring the Music.

I cannot describe how it starts off. It has a kind of latin dance theme to the start, then it breaks down into some cowbells before dropping into sheer dirt.

Saving the best to last we have Udachis take on Dubstep.

2008 was a massive year for Dubstep, and if producers like Udachi keep trying their hand at Dubstep 09 will be even bigger.

This tune is a remix of M83s - We Own the Sky. A very deep but heartwarming track. I would suggest listening to it before you hear the remix so you can see how it has been made.

M83 - We own the sky

Udachi leaves the intro pretty much as it is, without changing it, he then lets the vocals creep in aswell, then when your not expecting it he loops the vocals and then drops it into a very buzzy dubstep bass. A very nice track as it mixes dark meaningful music with hyped up drops

Crookers are back!

crookers

Crookers seem to be back!

I wasnt to keen on “Big fat club ass” so we didn’t blog it, but I am all over this one!

What Up Y’all, Ok Ok, this tune starts of with classic crooker drums, into a classic crooker synth sound. But then drops with a completely original bassline. The bassline is made up of some sort of vox bass sound with plenty portamento included as always! Very happy they are back, this track owns life.

Here is also a remix by Dirty Disco Youth which it takes away alot of the ‘whomp’ from the original but replaces it with a nice buzzing bassline. Fair game.

I also have a dope Udachi Remix for you!

I do not actually know the name, but its a remix of a track by Rico Tubbs. It is one hell of a tune. This track defines real hyphy fidget house for me! It some strange bells going on over the top but the bass is perfect!

Catch it first here.

And finally, for those who haven’t copped it yet. There is no doubt you should add this to your collection.

ac slater.

ac slater.

as we all start out the new year with new resolutions, and new ambitions, others of us are starting the new year off with new record labels. choosing to take music matters into his own hands, ac slater decided to launch his own label party like us records ('plur' for all you rave kids). 'party like us' is the first off the blocks and got a re-mastering as it's ready to hit the clubs.

just in case you forgot what ac slater likes, he reminds you over and over again in this track... bass! bass! bass!

ac slater - party like us

inspired by an old sample, udachi starts things off with enough energy to power a 'burning man' village for an entire week. he snagged those epic rave synths and injected some heavy bass for the perfect balance.

can't wait to see what comes out of the plur camp next. it's like the parents are out of town, the kids are home alone and there are no rules. houseparty!
