High Rankin

Dubstep is throwing up some seriously good up and coming producers right now; and the incorporation of dubstep into house / jungle / D&B sets and vice versa is making it one of the most pliable sounds on the scene. Personally, I think that the word 'pliable' is in need of a huuuge reintroduction back into everyday usage, but that's beside the point. You could say it 'Ranks High' on our list of words today....which brings me neatly along to our "Super Upcoming Dubstep / Jungle / Cross Genre Junkie of the Day" for today, HIGH RANKIN! (Serious apologies about that, we were clutching at links). MORE AFTER THE JUMP!

Will, as he is affectionately known to family, professes to be a 'Dj - Producer - Artist - Jungle Ponce - Visionary - Digital Minstrel - Stuntman - Monkey Trainer - Inventor - Circus Strong Man' which makes for quite a email signature; and probably costs him a fortune to list in the Yellow Pages. Not sure that there is a big section for 'Jungle Ponces', but it's an emerging market.

Annie Mac has recently grasped on to his tracks like a koala to eucalyptus, describing his music as "dubstep for girls"; which is harsh because we've played it and we're definitely DEFINITELY male. But either way, his tracks are absolutely sick and he's kindly given us a mixtape of all his current work and cheeky track for your delectation!

If you need any monkeys training, oversized comedy weights lifting or general tips on how to be a jungle ponce (or alternatively if you need some sick tunes and mixes) check out his MYSPACE for some more info!

Forsaken , Scream

Joker - Hollybrook Park (Forsaken Remix)

Ed Rush & Optical - Alien Girl (Forsaken Remix)

Forsaken is a dubstep/grime producer from Bristol, with releases on Immerse, Punch Drunk, and Forecast Recordings. He is also resident at Bristol's Dub night "Byte" and has produced tunes alongside the likes of Joker. He's all about big basslines and 'space like' synths which give a dark, eerie feel to his tunes. Check him out and buy his tunes on Beatport.

Dave Gahan - Saw Something (Skreamix)

Skream can't do wrong at the minute, the first is a rip from his recent 'Stella Sessions' radio show, and will be released quite soon. The second is a mellow remix of what seems to be a chilled out vocal tune. Skream adds his usual hectic bass, yet manages to keep the ambience of the vocals well. Expect a lot from this guy in the not so distant future.

Grum woah remix contest ( vennatics Baby drop dub)

OK OK OK it has been a while since I have posted and a lot of these links are dead so I will work On it But Here is a new one. Grum is coming to the US for the first time on nov. 1st to NY so check him out. For his arrival and new single Palms out Sunday is holding a remix contest of his track Woah. Which reminds me of a Daft Punk Discovery (esk) song. With 70s or 80's song samples and a Euero Chord and Bassline . Most remixes I have heard have the same genre feeling to them so I decided to make a Dubstep stlye track. Granted this is the first time i have ever even tried to make a dubstep song. I tried to keep some of the origional sounds and samples true to their origional form. And of course I took a lot of the sounds and changed them beyond recognition, so see if you can point them all out. the link to my remix is http://www.zshare.net/audio/50537348e0cea1f4/ . And if you would like To hear the origional song and two leading remixes ( before I submitted mine) here is the link http://www.zshare.net/download/504535769c4bd097/
God Bless America ( and so on and so on )
